I briefly lived in Las Vegas in 2005, working for a sales and marketing group at the Hard Rock Hotel. Nowadays, it's mostly giant video boards playing scenes from the current musician in residence. Gone are the days of the old school signs with millions of twinkling bulbs and subtle details. There's something magical about a mid-century casino in the desert with a member of the Rat Pack playing in the lounge.
An era before it got the whole 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas' moniker and became the bachelor party capital of the world.
One of my favorite time travel daydreams is to experience mid-century Las Vegas.
